I only speak English, so whatever you see on here in Japanese or another language is thanks to online translators, such as Google Translate. And, as you know, those sometimes give some awfully weird and crazy results. So, I apologize if a few things on here get lost in the translation. Feel free to do your own translating, as that might yield an outcome that makes more sense.

I won't elaborate right now, but as we go along, I will try to explain why I am mixing American and Japanese cultures on here. The fact is, it's just who I am. I am an American (from the great state of Texas), but I am disillusioned with the way the culture of my country has been changing in modern times. Again, I will explain what I mean later on. But suffice it to say that I am all about gentleness, beauty, peace, and calm serenity. And, while you in Japan have done an admirable job of keeping much of that, the United States is rapidly moving away from it and becoming much more violent and chaotic (and insane, I would argue) than I am comfortable with.

So, I have my own solution. I make a conscious effort to reject all the bad stuff I dislike and avoid it as best I can. I cast it out of my life, no matter what others around me may be doing. And what's left is my own little world which, a long time ago, I named Idyllion. It may seem like some sort of imaginary Shangri-la, just a vapid fantasy; but, no, it is actually very real, at least for me. Because, more than a place, it is my daily life. Idyllion is wherever I am. It is me.

What I do is look for the nicest parts of different cultures and combine them into a way of living that works for me. Think it might work for you, too? Well, contact me and tell me about yourself and your dreams. What is your idea of what Idyllion should be? Maybe you and I are seeking the same sort of peaceful, tranquil world. I would love to have you as a new friend, even if we have to do it with the help of Google Translate. Hope I hear from you. - BA

(July, 2022) - May I extend my deepest sympathies to my Japanese friends who are mourning the loss of their former prime minister Shinzo Abe to an assassin's bullets. He was a monumental figure on the world stage who will be missed, even by those who often disagreed with his politics. May he rest in peace. - BA
